1,200 islands. 26 atolls. The clearest water on earth.

The Maldives is the most remote and most extraordinary charter destination in the world. 1,200 coral islands spread across 26 atolls in the Indian Ocean, with water so clear you can see the bottom from 30 metres. A superyacht charter in the Maldives is unlike any other: no marinas, no roads, no crowds. Just the boat, the water, and the reef.
The Maldives charter season runs from November to April, during the northeast monsoon. The weather is settled, the visibility is exceptional, and the diving is among the best in the world. The whale shark and manta ray aggregations in the South Ari Atoll are accessible from November to May.
A Maldives charter is fundamentally different from a Mediterranean charter. There are no marinas — the yacht anchors off uninhabited islands or at designated anchorages near inhabited islands. Provisioning is done in Malé, the capital, at the start of the charter. The crew manages all logistics.
The diving and snorkelling in the Maldives is world-class. The outer atolls — Baa Atoll, South Ari Atoll, Addu Atoll — have the best visibility and the most marine life. Whale sharks, manta rays, hammerhead sharks, and reef sharks are all regularly encountered. A dive master is essential and can be arranged as part of the charter.
MY OCEAN arranges Maldives charters through the wider market. The fleet available includes liveaboard dive vessels, traditional dhoni, and modern motor yachts. Emily will match the right vessel to your group and priorities.
"MY OCEAN has been arranging Maldives charters since 2020. Emily Cossey leads the charter desk and has personally arranged over 200 charters across the Indian Ocean."
Emily Cossey, Charter Manager — MY OCEANThe South Ari Atoll has one of the most reliable whale shark aggregations in the world. Manta rays are common throughout the atolls from November to April. A dive master is essential and can be arranged as part of the charter.
The Maldives has hundreds of uninhabited islands — sandbanks, coral islands, and jungle islands — accessible only by boat. A charter yacht gives you access to islands that no hotel guest will ever visit.
The Maldives is one of the best places in the world to see bioluminescent plankton. On dark nights, the water around the boat glows blue. Swimming in bioluminescent water is one of the most extraordinary natural experiences available.
The outer atolls have some of the best diving in the world: wall dives, drift dives, and channel dives with hammerhead sharks, grey reef sharks, and Napoleon wrasse. Visibility is typically 20–40 metres.
