Why charter in Montenegro?
Montenegro is the most dramatic charter destination in the Adriatic. The Bay of Kotor — a fjord-like inlet surrounded by mountains rising 1,700 metres from the water — is one of the most photographed natural landscapes in the Mediterranean. The walled city of Kotor at its head is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Montenegro is less expensive than Croatia, less crowded than the French Riviera, and genuinely spectacular.
The Bay of Kotor is the centrepiece of any Montenegro charter. The bay is 28 kilometres long and up to 600 metres deep, surrounded by the Dinaric Alps. The walled city of Kotor at the head of the bay is one of the best-preserved medieval towns in the Mediterranean. The drive from the water to the city walls takes 10 minutes by tender.
The Budva Riviera, south of the bay, is the social centre of Montenegro. Budva has a well-equipped marina, good restaurants, and a nightlife scene that draws a younger crowd. The beaches south of Budva — Sveti Stefan, Petrovac — are among the most beautiful on the Adriatic coast.
Montenegro is not in the EU, which means EU VAT does not apply to Montenegro charters. The country is small — the entire coastline is less than 300 kilometres — which means a week's charter can cover the entire coast from the Bay of Kotor to the Albanian border.
