Verstappen's 33-metre Mangusta GranSport 33, named Unleash the Lion, was commissioned to mark his fourth consecutive world title. Built by Overmarine with an IPS1350 propulsion system, it reaches 26 knots with lower fuel consumption than comparable vessels of its size. The sundeck, beach club and alfresco lounging areas reflect exactly what a Monaco-based owner wants: somewhere to decompress between race weekends, not a statement piece.

Estimated value: ~$12 million. Annual running costs at 10%: approximately $1.2 million per year. A week's charter on a comparable 33-metre vessel costs €40,000–€60,000.

Charles Leclerc: Riva 102 Corsaro Super Sedici, ~€8–10 million

Leclerc took delivery of the 30.2-metre Riva 102 Corsaro Super Sedici in 2026. He worked directly with the Riva shipyard on the project, selecting the Minotti and Poliform furnishings himself. Twin MTU engines deliver 28 knots. The name Sedici means sixteen in Italian, a reference to his Ferrari race number.

Estimated value: €8–10 million. Annual running costs: approximately €800,000–€1 million.

Fernando Alonso: Sunreef Power Eco 60, ~$2.5 million

Alonso's 18.3-metre Sunreef Power Eco 60 is the most interesting purchase on this list. He chartered the model first. The yacht runs on 68.6 square metres of solar panels and a lightweight battery bank. No engine noise, no fumes, no vibration. "When I spend time on the catamaran, it is completely the opposite of racing," Alonso said. "I slow down my life and go in slow motion."

Estimated value: ~$2.5 million. Annual running costs: approximately $250,000. The Sunreef Power Eco 60 is available for charter in the Mediterranean. The charter-first route to ownership that Alonso himself took.

Lewis Hamilton: The Charter Approach, €150,000–€200,000/week

Hamilton doesn't own a superyacht in the traditional sense. He charters. During Monaco Grand Prix week, he's been spotted aboard the 55-metre Baglietto Severin's and various other vessels. A week on a 55-metre Baglietto costs approximately €150,000–€200,000 in charter fees, plus APA (30–35%) and crew gratuity. If Hamilton charters four weeks per year, his total annual spend is approximately €800,000–€1 million, significantly less than the €2–3 million annual running cost of owning a comparable vessel.

Toto Wolff: Mangusta 50m V, ~$27 million

Wolff has owned a 50-metre Mangusta motor yacht capable of 35 knots, reportedly valued at $27 million. He's also been vocal about what his ideal next yacht would look like: seaworthy enough to circumnavigate, equipped with new emission technology, a helicopter garage, and a proper gym. He's sketched plans with Wally's Luca Bassani for a 65-metre carbon-fibre sailing yacht.

Lawrence Stroll: Faith, $200 million

The Aston Martin F1 team owner's 79.95-metre Feadship Project 714, named Faith, is the largest vessel on this list. Reportedly priced at $200 million, it towers over the other yachts in Port Hercule. Annual running costs: approximately $15–20 million per year. Faith accommodates 20 guests across eight cabins and requires a permanent crew of 20+.

Nico Rosberg: The Sustainability Advocate

Nico Rosberg, the 2016 F1 world champion, has carved out a niche in sustainable yachting since retiring from racing. He is frequently seen promoting eco-friendly charter yachts and participating in initiatives focused on green yachting. His involvement highlights a growing trend of eco-conscious F1 alumni who carry their environmental values beyond the racetrack.

Adrian Newey: The Engineer's Sailing Yacht

Adrian Newey commissioned a 27.4-metre Oyster 885 in 2023. The choice of a sailing yacht rather than a motor yacht is characteristic of Newey's engineering sensibility, and he's interested in how things work, and a sailing yacht is a more technically demanding vessel to operate. The Oyster 885 is a serious offshore cruiser, built for passages rather than marina hopping.
