Jonny Dodge

Jonny Dodge was born in Dorset in 1982 into a family with deep roots in the yachting industry. His father worked with superyachts and private jets, and the family's close friendship with Robert Braithwaite, founder of Sunseeker, meant Jonny was attending yacht shows and spending time aboard superyachts before he was a teenager. "I'd love to be on boats," he recalled thinking at his first Monaco yacht show. That instinct never left him.

After a BA in Product Design from the University of Plymouth and an MA from Central St. Martins in London, Jonny moved into high-end experiential events. He co-invested in Aura Mayfair, a private members club in London's Mayfair, founded the Dodgeball Rally, a bi-annual supercar event across Europe, and organised the inaugural Grand Prix Ball at the Hurlingham Club in 2010. Through GP Management, he became one of the leading operators of F1 hospitality, running events at Monaco, Abu Dhabi, and Silverstone that attracted performers including Eminem, Jessie J, and Jay Kay.

The move into yacht brokerage was a natural extension. GP Management had been chartering superyachts for F1 clients for years, and Jonny knew the product from the client's side. When COVID-19 arrived in 2020 and the events business contracted, he launched My Ocean from the South of France, initially renting 3,000 euro day boats to friends, then scaling rapidly. Within months, My Ocean had facilitated over $10 million in charters in a single month, including a month-long charter aboard the 136-metre Lürssen superyacht Flying Fox, one of the largest charter agreements in the industry's history.

Forbes dubbed him "The Superyacht Influencer" in 2020 for his approach to blending social media, personal networks, and experiential luxury. SuperYacht Times interviewed him at the Dubai International Boat Show in 2022. The Dubai Boat Show featured him as a speaker in 2024. His Instagram following of 496,000 is one of the largest of any yacht broker in the world.

My Ocean now operates from London, Dubai, and Monaco, with a team of seven brokers. The company accepts Bitcoin and USDT for charter and sales transactions, one of the few brokerages in the world with the infrastructure to handle crypto payments at scale. The average client age is 30–40, a decade younger than the industry norm.

Beyond business, Jonny is known for extreme adventures: treks from Antarctica to the Amazon Jungle, survival on a desert island, and ongoing astronaut training for a suborbital space flight. He is attempting a Guinness World Record for the fastest car crossing of Antarctica. He supports The Prince's Trust through the annual Grand Prix Ball, which has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for the charity.
